Despite having modern furnishings, the overall ambiance felt overshadowed by the dated condition of the property, with some elements showing clear signs of wear and tear.

I really liked the central location of Hotel Metropolis. The neighborhood felt safe and clean with locals around. The room size was surprisingly good compared to what I expected in Europe. The air conditioning worked well. the shower had some leaks, which was a bit annoying. The breakfast options left much to be desired, as it mainly consisted of basic pastries and cold items. I wished for some hot options like poached eggs or other warm dishes. The highlight of my stay was the staff. they were truly helpful and attentive. On the downside, the beds were rock hard, which made sleep a bit uncomfortable. I also found the TV had limited English channels.
